A few weeks ago Cody took Eli on the church Father's and Son's camp-out. It was the first time they had ever gone camping just the 2 of them. We went with Eli when he was just a baby, so it was kind of his first camp-out that he could recall. So, I made Cody take the camera to document this special daddy time. They had a lot of fun together and Eli was full of great things to say. I guess the S'more stuff came a little late and Eli was already in the tent, so when he heard the marshmallows had arrived, he announced it to the entire camp as he went to the campfire. He also became obsessed with saying hi to the Bishop. It is so funny because even now when he sees him on Sunday he says, "Hi Bishop". Sometimes he doesn't hear him because he is a little hard of hearing, but Eli usually will then speak up until he is acknowledged. I just love how much he loves him. There were a lot of little boys around Eli's age there, so he kept pretty entertained. When it was time to go to bed he took his flashlight in his sleeping bag and was reading books. When he fell asleep he wouldn't stay on the pad, so Cody kept putting him back on. Needless to say between moving Eli back to his bed and the thunder/lightning he didn't get a lot of sleep. Then he went to work the next day! What an awesome dad...you can tell why we love him so much!

Awww! How cute is that! So glad they had such a blast!
Sounds like so much fun! Ammon is taking just Gideon this weekend for their Father/Sons Campout! I won't be surprised to hear that they got snow instead of a rainstorm! Gideon is excited to go anyway! Poor Ammon then comes home for Sunday and then goes camping with the Boy Scouts for an entire week! Tell Cody that he is lucky to only have to go back to work the next day!
Actually, it was the same day. I had to get up by 4:30am to pack Eli and all the gear up in time to get to work. Too bad we had to go so early because it's the best to wake up to all the birds chirping and such. You're right though, I'm sort of a wimp compared to Ammon. I could never keep up with Ammon and all those scouts. Ammon's the man!!
Sorry, I guess I worded that weird! You are not a wimp, I couldn't have gotten up that early and still had enough energy to go to work and what not.
Go Cody! That is the best - a great dad making fun memories with his son. You have such a great hubby, Kristin. I love your other posts, too. Those pictures of you two on the tractor made me chuckle. Date nights are great! And it was so fun seeing those pictures of Ryan... er, Elder Buchanan. :) I showed them to Kevin and he thought it was cool that you guys got to know him. Your cute kids are growing so fast. I can't believe how big Sadie looks in those olive pictures! Love ya, Kek!
